Memory Care Assistance

St. James Place provides two distinct levels of memory care for residents with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other cognitive difficulties.    

Located in the Assisted Living community, Highland Court Assisted Living is a perfect extension of Assisted Living for residents with moderate memory or cognitive decline. Residents enjoy large studio apartments with a private bathroom and kitchenette, with specially trained staff members on hand around-the-clock to offer support and guidance. Highland Court Assisted Living residents enjoy a private dining room, living room, and a beautiful secure outdoor courtyard. Residents enjoy a full calendar of activities, some of which are designed specifically for Highland Court Assisted Living while others include the residents of Assisted Living.

Highland Court Nursing is specifically designed to offer more specialized care for residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of advanced dementia. Many of the residents require nursing care as well as assistance with activities of daily living. With the knowledge and understanding of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, the staff provide appropriate and meaningful activities planned to meet the individual needs of the residents. This self-contained neighborhood is beautifully appointed and secure, and provides a private dining room, living room, and an inviting courtyard area in which residents can safely enjoy the outdoors.  All of the rooms are private and spacious. 

For the 2011 satisfaction survey year, St. James Place Highland Court Nursing received the My InnerView Excellence in Action award.  This award recognizes communities that achieve the highest level of satisfaction excellence as demonstrated by overall resident or employee satisfaction scores that fall within the top 10 percent of the My InnerView product client base of over 5000 qualifying skilled nursing homes. 

In both Highland Court Assisted Living and Highland Court Nursing, Life Care residents transitioning through the continuum of care do so at no extra charge except for the minimal cost of two additional meals per day.
